Coming off two impressive season opening victories against Post University and Southern Connecticut State University, the Purple Knights look to improve to 3-0 on the season when they host Wilmington University on Friday afternoon.
Newcomer midfielders freshman Gabrielle Valela and graduate student Lindsey Kehoe have both led the offensive attack so far . Valela leads the team in goals scored with 10 and Kehoe has eight goals and a team leading 16 points. Also contributing are freshman attackers Emily Catalano and Katie King, who have each scored four goals in their first collegiate season.
Wilmington University, comes to Bridgeport with the 2-1 overall record and recently lost to Millersville University 17-15 on Tuesday. The Wildcats are led by attacker Liz Case, who has 10 goals and 14 points and midfielder Meggan Apgar with nine goals. Goalkeeper Kaitlyn Hall has a .463 save percentage.
This will be the first ever meeting between the two schools. Action gets underway at 2 p.m. at Knights Field. Free Admission.
