On Wednesday the UB basketball teams travel to St. Thomas Aquinas College for a doubleheader.
At 5:30 p.m is the women's game with Bridgeport (15-11 overall and 13-6 in ECC Play) at STAC (19-7 overall and 15-4 in ECC play).
Key Notes for the game:
- Bridgeport have spilt both games this season to the Spartans. On Jan. 8 lost 62-48 and won on Jan. 29 at home 72-59.
- The Lady Spartans are led by Briana Sloper averaging 18.2 pts per game and 7.4 rebounds per game while the Purple Knights are led by Senior Kelly Keil, who is averaging 15 pts, 8 rebounds and 2 blocks per game.
- UB is currently leading the ECC in 3 pt field goal pct defense by only allowing opponents to shoot .285 % and also led the conference in assists per game with 14.4 per game.
At 7:30 p.m. is the men's game with Bridgeport (16-8 overall and 16-3 in ECC play) at STAC (5-19 overall and 5-14 in ECC play)
Key notes for the game:
- Bridgeport has won six games in a row and recently blew out Queens College by 31 this past saturday on Senior Day and are tied with C.W. Post for the best conference record in the ECC.
- STAC has lost seven of their last eight games overall and most recently lost to C.W. Post at home 82-61.
- The Purple Knights have taken both meetings his season winning by 10 in the first and 27 in the second meeting.
- UB is led by senior Jermaine Washington, who is averaging 14 pts per game and 4 assists and Josh Martin and his 12.8 ppg. The Spartans are led by Jamie Blanchard averaging 10.1 ppg and Ian Stark with 9.4 ppg.
