UB Faculty members goals for this year

Eric D. Lehman --- Senior Lecturer in English/FYS Professor
"My hopes for the 2011-12 school year are perhaps too ambitious. By the end
of spring semester I would like to finish co-authoring another book with
professor Amy Nawrocki, as well as help the new faculty essay series get off
the ground. But my hopes for my students are even more ambitious. I hope
that some will begin the process of becoming the successful humans they have
the potential to become, and I hope some continue on that difficult path.
That's a lot to ask, but I know that they have the strength to do it."

Colleen Powers --- Director of Campus Activities and Community Services
"I am excited for students to come back to UB with an energy and enthusiasm
to make this their best year yet!  In Campus Activities and Community
Services, we have some new opportunities for students to get involved and
make a difference in the lives of others, including the UB The Change Common
Interest Living Floor in Seeley Hall.  Additionally, with the creation of
the new Student Programming Board more students will get the chance to
participate in the process of planning and putting on events for the UB
community.  I encourage everyone to come out to the first SPB Meeting Monday
the 29th at 9pm in Private Dining Room and to the Club and Activity Fair
Thursday September 8th from 4-6pm on the Ped Mall to see all of the
opportunities to get involved!"
Dr. Thomas Ward --- Dean of the International College
"We look forward to an exciting new year with important programmatic
developments in the International College. We also are pleased to welcome
Dr. Robert Riggs to the College. Dr. Riggs' academic focus is Islamic
Civilization and Arabic. He will contribute to the World Religions program
as well as to the course offerings in the Global Development and Peace
program."

"It is uplifting to see the many improvements on the UB campus since last
Spring. It contributes so much to the aesthetics of the campus. The new
year is a promising and hopeful one for UB as an institution. With new
academic programs, new study and dining facilities, some momentous
athletic events, as well as promising, new faculty and a strong cohort of
new students, we have a lot to look forward to."
