After coming off a hard fought 1-0 victory over Stonehill College on Wednesday, The Purple Knights will host ECC rival N.Y.I.T. at Knights Field Saturday afternoon and try to hold onto the number one spot in Division II Women's Soccer Rankings. Over the past three seasons, Bridgeport has taken all three matches by outscoring the Bears 10-2.
N.Y.I.T., lead the ECC in goals and are second in the league in assist and are led by juniors Natasha Arana and Heather Kaspar. Each have nine and eight points respectively. The Bears, who recently lost to Molloy College last Saturday and lost 4-3 and are currently 0-2 on the road this season.
The Purple Knights have allowed the fewest goals in the ECC this season with only two by outscoring opponents 18-2. Goalkeeper Julia Hansson has six shutouts in eight matches this season and recording a .957 save percentage. Senior forward Kasey Kenny leads the league in goals with six and points with 15.
