After coming off another dominating 5-0 performance over St. Thomas Aquinas on Saturday, the Purple Knights will face a tough test when they travel Pleasantville, N.Y. and take on Pace University from the Northeast-10 Conference. This will be the first ever meeting between the two schools.
The Setters come into the game winners of their last six and are now 8-7-1 on the season. Freshman forward Jillian Ferro leads the team with eight goals and a team leading 20 points, which is also good for fourth in the Northeast-10. Sophomore forward Amanda Mundorf is second with six goals and 15 points. Junior goalkeeper Courtany Hagen leads the NE-10 in saves with 111, which is also good for 12th in the nation. Hagen has a .816 save percentage.
Bridgeport has allowed the fewest goals with three in the East Region behind sophomore goalkeeper Julia Hansson, who is first in the nation with .958 save percentage. Sophomore forward Asia Pulse has been hot the past two games with four goals, three of which came against Wilmington University last Thursday. The Purple Knights have now outscored their opponents 39-3 this season.
On Saturday, Bridgeport captured the regular season ECC conference title and were awarded with home field advantage during the semi-finals and finals round.
Gametime is set for 3 p.m. at Pace Field.
